Together against blood cancer: B+S enables employees to be typed

News

Borgholzhausen, May 28, 2021 – Every 15 minutes a person in Germany is diagnosed with blood cancer. The diagnosis throws those affected off course and every tenth blood cancer patient still cannot find a suitable donor, in Germany alone. It’s looking for a needle in a haystack: the tissue characteristics of the donor must match those of the patient 100 percent. It is therefore all the more important that many people register.

And this is exactly where we as a company want to make our contribution. On today’s international World Blood Cancer Day, we are starting our company-wide registration campaign for stem cell typing by the DKMS. Because companies have a responsibility. Not just for our own employees: inside or for the business.

We are aware of this and therefore joined the Blood Transport Initiative in March 2021. As part of this logistics initiative, we are starting our first campaign today: All employees now have the opportunity to be typed for one month free of charge. We as a company bear the costs for this.

We look forward to every participation of our employees who decide to save lives.
