Borgholzhausen, August 13, 2020 – B + S GmbH Logistik und Dienstleistungen is growing and is reacting to this together with the project developer for industrial and logistics real estate Panattoni by expanding the available space at the headquarters in Borgholzhausen. The newly started construction of the East Westphalian company will have over 30,000 square meters of logistics space. It offers capacities of up to 60,000 pallet spaces and is built according to the most modern and sustainable standards. The first units are scheduled to go into operation at the end of February 2021. The other units can be handed over at the end of March 2021.
The drive for the new building is the demand from growing customers. You will find space in the new B + S building for your products and logistic services in the field of e-commerce and pet supplies. In addition, a new customer who has established himself as a market leader in the field of adhesive technology will also use the new space available at the multi-user location directly on the A33. “We are pleased that our customers have placed their trust in us to drive their growth together with us”, emphasizes Stefan Brinkmann, Managing Director of B + S.
Certified and sustainable
Like all B + S locations, the expansion at the Borgholzhausen location will also be certified in accordance with International Featured Standards (IFS). The logistics service provider guarantees high standards for the storage and handling of food and non-food items and offers the highest level of process reliability – even with temperature-controlled logistics. Because an expansion as a cold store is already being prepared. “A particular focus of our new building in Borgholzhausen is the sustainable construction and use. We pay attention to resource-saving building materials, innovative and economical lighting concepts and energy-optimized logistics areas. Because we are also pursuing our goal in Borgholzhausen: reducing CO2 emissions by 40 percent by 2023, ”says Stefan Brinkmann, explaining his vision of Green Logistics. In order to achieve the ambitious sustainability goals, the new building also has a powerful photovoltaic system with an output of up to max. 2.1 megawatt peak.
Good cooperation between developers, building users and residents
It is already the second joint project for B + S and Panattoni. The two companies planned and developed the new company headquarters in the Borgholzhausen-Versmold industrial park three years ago. “With this growing partnership, we can follow up on previous joint activities on the new building in Borgholzhausen,” says Stefan Brinkmann, pleased about the cooperation. For example, the access road laid out in 2017 will be expanded as part of the current new building. And the residents near the industrial park were also included in the project development. “It is important to us that we integrate structurally and entrepreneurially in the neighborhood. To do this, we went beyond the structural requirements and responded to the wishes of the neighbors and, for example, had special greenery planted or even completely waived the installation of lighting in the direction of the residents ”, says Brinkmann.
