Exactly on the day of the company's 20th anniversary, B+S is putting a further 30,000 sqm of logistics space into operation and will have over 350,000 sqm across Germany in the future. The new building also has a powerful and at the same time one of the largest photovoltaic systems in the region with an output of up to a maximum of 2.1 megawatts peak.
B+S is growing and is responding to this by expanding the available space at its headquarters in Borgholzhausen. The new building will have over 30,000 m² of logistics space and is built according to ultra-modern and sustainable standards.
The logistics service provider B+S has received the Lean and Green Award for its action plan to reduce CO2 emissions.
With the commissioning of 30,000 m² of new logistics space, B+S has more than 320,000 m² of logistics space throughout Germany. The new location creates 50 new jobs. In the future, another 75 jobs are to be added.
B+S creates around 15 new jobs and 10,000 m² of logistics space. This location benefits from an economically strong region that demands a large amount of storage space. The A8 motorway provides a strategically important connection, especially for deliveries to the south.
The new 20,000 m² of space brings the total available area in East Westphalia to around 100,000 m². The expansion creates between 40 and 45 new full-time jobs.
B+S celebrates the topping-out ceremony in Bielefeld. A total of 53,000 m² of logistics space will be available at the Bielefeld site in the future. With the expansion, B+S in Bielefeld offers secure jobs to a total of 200 employees.
A further 12,500 m² is put into operation at the Port of Hamburg for the Hamburg branch and 30 additional jobs are created. This brings the total available area in Hamburg to 33,000 m².
The relocation from Bad Iburg to Borgholzhausen means even better infrastructure and transport connections.
With the new building, B+S increases its cold storage capacity and further expands its e-commerce business.
In Eppertshausen, an 8,500 m² warehouse is put into operation to serve new pharmaceutical logistics customers and to relieve the Zettlitz location.
In response to customer and volume growth, as well as extensive additions to the product range, a further hall with 10,000 m² is put into operation at the Alzenau location – the total available space is now around 62,500 m².
The Hamburg branch is enlarged by 5,000 m². With modern storage technology and shelving, 15,000 new storage spaces are created. Now, for the first time, all of the B+S GmbH locations are certified according to IFS standard. All locations passed the audit with a score of 99 percent: “Higher Level”'.
Expansion and consolidation of all warehousing and logistics activities in the Rhine-Main area at Alzenau-Süd, which has 25,000 m² of temperature-controlled storage and logistics space in one warehouse plus strategic growth opportunities in the same industrial area.
Opening of the Bielefeld-Süd branch with 14,500 m² of storage and handling space, 6,000 m² of which are cold storage facilities with flexibly divisible temperature zones. The main focus in Bielefeld is on contract logistics, interim storage and dispatch for Internet traders, and seasonal business.
Syscon is taken over by Koloda. It assumes the joint name of Syscon GmbH Systeme plus Consulting. The takeover supports the expansion of B+S in the Rhein-Main area.
Together with an external IT specialist, Koloda is founded in order to offer customers the best service in all matters and areas of IT, such as freight forwarding and warehousing programs and site networking.
Opening of the new branch with 9,000 m² of storage and handling space. The main focus at the new location is on handling import containers, interim storage, Europe-wide delivery and contract logistics.
Commissioning of 12,500 m² of storage and handling area for handling promotional goods, co-packing tasks and consolidation storage.
B+S puts its own vehicle fleet into operation: the first 15 lorries are purchased.
