Consumers enjoy the convenient way of ordering online, especially when it comes to clothing, electronics, household appliances and books. This also applies to product categories such as groceries or drugstore items. DHL alone, with a market volume of almost 50 percent, reports over 1.6 billion parcels in 2020. According to the Federal Association of Courier Express Post Services eV, the entire CEP industry could already have 4.43 billion parcels by 2023.
