Bielefeld, September 10, 2019 – Over 520 visitors met at the third edition of the E-Commerce BBQ on September 6, 2019 in the Bielefeld logistics park Fuggerstrasse for a lively exchange about the opportunities and requirements of e-commerce. In keynote speeches, a total of 20 speakers from well-known online retailers, developers and start-ups gave insights into their business models and looked into the future of digital commerce. The subsequent BBQ party offered shop operators, practitioners and experts the opportunity for an informal exchange until late in the evening. From the point of view of the organizer B+S GmbH Logistik und Dienstleistungen an all-round successful industry get-together.

Online retail is changing rapidly: Rising consumer expectations, automation of processes, new marketing strategies and the call for sustainability require shop operators to continuously question their business processes and to open up new fields of knowledge. The professionals at the E-Commerce BBQ in Bielefeld had the opportunity to do just that.

Practical know-how from first hand

The industry experts agree. “Online retail is booming,” said keynote speaker Marcus Diekmann of Rose Bikes. This growth poses new challenges for everyone involved in the entire value chain. The 20 speakers from well-known online retailers, real estate developers and start-ups reported on how entrepreneurs can successfully deal with the latest trends from social media, omnichannel or marketplaces in keynote speeches. Guided tours of the B+S logistics center also gave participants an insight into the logistical processes behind e-commerce.

“We are pleased that our event format has attracted even greater interest compared to the previous year,” says B+S Managing Director Stefan Brinkmann. “In the coming year, we will again set up a forward-looking program with impulses for the e-commerce industry,” he looks ahead.
