B+S opens Ulm branch
Borgholzhausen, September 12, 2019 – B+S GmbH Logistik und Dienstleistungen is putting the first areas of the 30,000-square-meter hall into operation in the logistics park Am Tower. There, the medium-sized company takes on numerous services related to the storage and transport of specialties from the well-known Aachen print and chocolate factory Henry Lambertz GmbH & Co. KG. Additional customers will soon add to the location. The logistics service provider is creating around 15 new jobs through the establishment in Leipheim, Bavaria, Swabia. The location will be officially opened on September 26th.
Increase in Leipheim’s logistics park Am Tower: In the future, B+S will store and pick the products of the traditional company Lambertz on 11,000 square meters of the existing 30,000 square meter warehouse. The remaining 19,000 square meters will be sourced from other customers over the course of the year, to whom B+S offers a wealth of logistics services from a single source: These include value-added services such as the packaging of goods, labeling or the construction and assembly of sales displays.
“Leipheim convinces with several factors. We are here in an economically strong region with a large space requirement, which with the A8 has a connection that is strategically important, especially for deliveries to the south. For our customer Lambertz, the proximity to the production plant in Neu-Ulm is also crucial, ”explains B+S Managing Director Stefan Brinkmann.
Many of the products have a chocolate content. That’s why they like it cool: In order to guarantee their quality, the logistics service provider with its headquarters in Borgholzhausen in East Westphalia stores the sensitive delicacies at a constant 18 degrees Celsius. The logistics hall in Leipheim also scores in terms of technology: in addition to a state-of-the-art IT connection, the temperature-controlled system is also certified according to the so-called “International Featured Standard” (IFS). The globally recognized set of rules requires everyone who is involved in the supply chain to adhere to high standards. The logistics hall thus fulfills essential food, product and service standards. At the same time, the location opens up optimal conditions for the storage and order picking of highly sensitive pharmaceutical products.
